Your farmers are Kevin and Laura Channell. We are a husband and wife who enjoy sharing the life and work of farming. Our agricultural roots stem from our families who were involved in dairying, grain production, orchards, and vegetable gardening in the Midwest.

 

We dreamed of establishing a family farm together since 2001. Since then we have been learning from other farmers in the northeast working as apprentices, attending conferences and continuing our own study. We consider ourselves very fortunate to be stewards of this farm.

 

It is good land and therefore a gift. As Wendell Berry comments, “It is a gift because the people who are to possess it, did not create it…We must not use the world as though we created it ourselves.”

 

The name, Your Farm, is a reminder that this farm belongs to God, which helps us live more aligned with our created purpose, apply better farming practices and focus more on serving others through the farm.
